Beautiful. Beautiful. And Beautiful.

Perfection seemed to dance all around me today.  Even the royal fit that Sadi threw, in public mind you, didn't stop the music.  My heart has been so full.  I look about, I don't have to look far, and blessings are abundant.  I reiterate what so many of those who have gone before me claim, I LOVE MOTHERHOOD.  The level of love that a child helps you become capable of reaching is phenomenal.  Sadi and I shared so many precious moments today, as with every other day.  I guess my eyes have been more open lately to take them all in for what they are worth.  They are priceless.

(The dress that she is wearing is vintage.  It used to be mine.  Back in the '70's.  I can say that, I was born in 1979.)

On Children
FROM The Prophet
by Kahlil Gibran

And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said, Speak to us of Children.
And he said:
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.

Let your bending in the Archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves the bow that is stable.

Well put! I need to learn to keep this mindset all the time. Most days it is pretty easy to realize how wonderful motherhood is and just how grateful I am to have James, and then there are days where it just kind of seems to slip my mind and I want to pull my hair out. Next time I have one of THOSE days, I will make sure and read this post!

This post gave me chills. You know it doesn't matter how old we are or how long we have been a mother, the joy never fades! What a sacred honor to be given the blessing of being a mom. Sadi is beyond beautiful and how lucky she is to have you. The poem was powerful, and you amaze me every day! I love you!
